Going through a bunch I took last week, this is the first, just outside the complex..
Not my fav shot but it had far too much noise in colour so had no choice but to go with B&W, i’ve got too many photo’s now, sorting through them becomes a bit of a job, I rather like leaving them on my EP-2 and looking at them through the EVF, it’s like a mini movie theater in there, it adds quite a lot of drama to it.
I’m really wanting a full frame or really even a medium format camera to do some nice urban landscape stuff with, but I don’t have the spare 3 or 4 thousand to spend, best to wait for now.
I’ve been taking a lot of photo’s recently, filled up my 4gb card the other day, had to choose between a few shots to fit more in, of course in the end the vast majority won’t be used but it’s hard to tell on the back of the camera just what will work. I’ve also been using my Canon a bit as i’ve started my lighting course now, first thing we did was painting with a torch i’ll get to those later, some very random results. Teacher is great though, he’s Canadian with Italian heritage and lived in New York a lot of his time, he looks like a New Yorker very much with a backwards cheese cutter and checkered red glasses, he’s very emotive and expressive with his hands like he’s physically pulling the words out of his chest. Anyway i’ve been doing some stuff around photo’s of people I know but I feel I shouldn’t post it here necessarily, rather on facebook haha. It’s a pity because i’m really happy with the results, some of my best stuff I feel.
Where I took this there is a tall brick wall you can’t see over, a few months back I took a blind shot over it to see what was there and low and behold. I took another few shots in the weekend, this particular one the some of the sky has been cropped but I magically lined it up pretty perfectly, I’m finding I don’t even need to consciously think about alignment anymore.
Tried it in colour also but i’m sticking with the b&w for now.
Had a nice relaxing weekend, didn’t go out much with the camera but today and tomorrow i’m off work doing first aid training, we start early and finish early. It’s alright but, the lady who’s teaching it doesn’t interact with us enough, she just sits there and talks and talks, the temperature is slightly too warm, i’m squirming on my seat and shutting off. It’s tough work giving CPR too, 2 breaths to every 30 compressions, we did drills of this, by the end i’m sick of those dummies. In fact I pretty much sat there looking at the rows of them, worshiping some unseen amputated Hannibal Lecter god, I managed a photo.
